Good Luck. Travel Safe. GO!

By

On Friday, Feb. 12, CBS welcomed the biggest social media influencers of today fighting for first place on The Amazing Race.

“When I say go, grab your bags, run outside, make your way to the nearest airport and find me here in Mexico! Let’s get this started. The world is waiting for you. Good luck. Travel safe. GO!” ~ Host and producer, Phil Keoghan

The teams were off to Mexico City to meet at the first destination, the Monument to the Revolution. In 21 days, 11 teams will visit 18 cities in 10 countries and travel more than 27 thousand miles.

Best friends, Erin Robinson and Joslyn Davis are YouTube hosts of the news and entertainments channel at Clevver Media.

The Benson brothers, Darius and Cameron are stars on Vine for their parkour, unicycling and juggling stunts.

The “Magic Viner”, Zach King is battling for the win without using magic, alongside of his wife Rachel King.

YouTube dance choreographer and teacher, Matt Steffanina is teamed up with professional dancer and fiance, Dana Borriello.

Hagan Parkman is racing with her YouTube starred mother, Marty Cobb, whose flight attendant demonstration video went viral.

Pro frisbee players, Brodie Smith and Kurt Gibson make YouTube videos and demonstrate trick shots.

Social media influencers, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl make videos and host the award-winning podcast, Psychobabble.

Jessica Versteeg and Brittany Oldehoff are Instagram models. Combined, the best friends have nearly 150K followers.

Burnie Burns runs one of the largest gaming sites on YouTube called Rooster Teeth. His girlfriend Ashley Jenkins is co-host and one of the first people to be on the site.

YouTube star, Blair Fowler has posts makeup and hair tutorial videos. She’s teaming up with her father, Scott Fowler, for the race.

Vine’s teen heartthrob, Cole LaBrant is fighting for a win with his mother, Sheri LaBrant.

The first challenge was “Mariachi Madness.” Teams had to find which of the 350-mariachi players that wasn’t playing.

“Great Bulls of Fire” involved creating a bull out of paper mache and be the first to light the firework off in it.

The last challenge was “Cuevas De Teotihuacan.” Each team had to form a face on a mask with the pieces they were given. The team to complete first was to meet Phil at Museo Soumaya.

Dana and Matt won first place for the first set of challenges. Tyler and Korey came in second, followed by Zach and Rachel in third.

Luckily, this was not an elimination round so no team was sent home.
