From zip-lining to paragliding, the eight remaining teams fought their way through the icy cliffs of Chamonix, France in this week’s episode of The Amazing Race.

On Christmas day, each team was given a bag carrying thermal jackets, pants, boots and sunglasses for their next journey. After Brodie’s struggle of fitting into his new thermal pants and Matt’s reenactment of “Hammer pants,” the teams left the Pit Stop and put their new winter gear to use.

Being that Brodie & Kurt ended in first place last week, they were first to rip the clue that entailed teams to search surrounding streets for a car with one out of eight license plates shown beforehand. Afterwards, they were to ride to the Les Grands Montets Gondola Station to find their next clue.

Here, the teams ripped open a clue that assigned them to take a gondola about 11,000 feet up the summit of Les Grandes Montes (near Mount Blanc) to then get their next clue.

With no hesitation, Korey joked, “When in France, find yourself a cute mountain guide.”

At the clue box, teams had to choose a mountain guide. When boarding the gondola, it was noticed that Sheri & Cole didn’t have a mountain guide which backed them up a little bit since they had to return to the clue box.

Brodie & Kurt and Tyler & Korey were on the first gondola. Once they reached the top of the mountain, they hadTyler-Korey-Amazing-Race-RoccoReport spotted the clue which hung on the side of a rocky, steep peak.

In order to retrieve it, they had to zipline across from where they were standing. The teammates to do the task hung horizontally and upside down, while pulling themselves across the line.

At this point, Cole had done all the tasks on the Race so far, so his mother Sheri decided to try this out. She was terrified and crying from the platform to the rocky edge and all the way back, but she managed.

As Ashley ziplined made her way back to Matt, the clue flew out of her pocket and went down the mountain. She had to go across and get retrieve another clue.

After retrieving the clue and zip-lining it across to show their teammate, teams were to choose a Detour: Dynamite or Campsite.

Dynamite meant that teams would collect two bundles of dynamite. These bundles are used to create controlled explosions in order to prevent avalanches.

Then, they had to make their way on the mountainside to give their baguettes and dynamite to a ski patrol member. Once the dynamite exploded, they received their next clue. All of the teams, but one, chose this Detour.

Burnie & Ashley chose Campsite. This entailed teams to properly pitch a tent, along with a snow wall around it that would protect it. When done properly, they would get their next clue.

The gamers struggled to scoop out space for their tent in the snow. They also got close to breaking a metal pole to the tent.

Burnie said, “We set up tents all the time.”

After the teams finished up their Detour, the clue said to go to the Planpraz Gondola Station. This is where they would search for the next clue after that.

Here, teams came across a Roadblock. The chosen teammate had to run down the side of the mountain and paraglide (with a professional). On the way down, they had to spot a yeti that was waving the French flag. Once they told the judge the correct flag they had seen, they’d receive another clue.

By the end, Tyler & Korey met Phil at the mat first, taking hold of first place. Once again, the team was neck and neck with Brodie & Kurt, who placed second.

Media hosts, Erin & Joslyn finished in last. Now, The Amazing Race is left with seven teams. Check in two weeks, Friday, March 25!
