Awesomeness Films and YouTube announced the start of production on their latest film collaboration, We Love You. The film stars YouTube prankster Yousef “fouseyTUBE” Erakat with a dedicated following of 8.4 million subscribers, most-viewed Viner Lele Pons with 8 billion views and Dear White People actor Justin Dobies.
They are joined by hugely successful digital talents, YouTube star Ray William Johnson with 14 million subscribers and actress and digital star Lauren Elizabeth Luthringshausen who has garnered 3 million subscribers. Production commenced last week on location in South Carolina with Huck Botko directing and Jon Shestack producing. Additional cast members include Joe Hursley and Londale Theus, Jr.
“We Love You is a contemporary love story with a comedic twist. It is the kind of film, supported by a cast of talented actors, that we know our audience loves,” said Matt Kaplan, President of Awesomeness Films.
When best friends Noah (Dobies) and Ford (Erakat) both fall for the alluring Callie (Pons), it could be the end of their friendship. But when they have the idea that Callie just might be cool enough to date both of them at the same time, they embark on an experiment that will challenge everything they think they know about dating.
We Love You is the third project from AwesomenessTV to debut on YouTube Red. The Awesomeness Films feature Dance Camp starring Meg DeAngelis debuted last month, and the series “Foursome,” starring Jenn McAllister aka YouTuber jennxpenn, Viners Logan Paul and Rickey Thompson, premieres on March 30th.
