A new competition launches pitting notable entertainment, digital and sports personalities in an online “giving competition” that will benefit some of the nation’s most effective nonprofit organizations. Charity Champions League is the first-of-its-kind digital giving platform and designed to give millions of Americans the opportunity to support the social causes that most inspire them—without making a personal monetary donation.

Charity Champions League kicked off June 1 and continues through 3:00 PM, ET on June 15. During that time, participants will have the option of joining one of 11 teams, each headed by a celebrity captain and supporting a different nonprofit organization. The YouTube Stars taking part in the CCL are beauty vloggers Weylie Hoang/ASPCA, Nika Erculj/The Trevor Project, and Steph & Matilda aka PrimroseMakeup/Ronald McDonald House Charities, as well as singer Christina Grimmie for The Humane Society of the United States.

“Because of the work I do, I’m very fortunate to have a platform to support the causes and nonprofits I care about, like The Humane Society of the United States. What I love about Charity Champions League is that it gives everyone the chance to give back, including young people of my generation who might not have the money or know, on their own, how to get involved. I’m really excited to be playing, and I hope everyone will join me!,” said Grimmie.

Charity Champions League is free to play. Those interested in participating can sign up at charitychampionsleague.com and score “points” for the nonprofit team of their choice by reading, watching and sharing inspiring content on the Charity Champions League website and recruiting others to join their team. When the competition ends on June 15, each nonprofit will receive funding based upon where they finish. The nonprofit with the highest total score will receive the grand prize of $250,000. The competition will award over a half-a-million dollars overall.

Charity Champions League is the latest program from EcoMedia, the mission of which is to transform the power of the advertising dollar into tangible social change, helping to fund a variety of critical environmental, health and wellness, education, and veterans’ programs without adding to their advertising spend.
